Seventy-five minutes to learn how to handle wine like a professional: how to store it, open it, smell it and taste it. The hands-on part uses practice bottles, so you can make mistakes without ruining anything.
How the tasting works
It starts with a welcome glass of sparkling wine. Then the basics of the sommelier's craft: opening, serving, smelling, tasting. Two guided tastings follow, one after the other, and a final part with the last glasses and time for your questions to the sommelier.

The wines and the food
Six glasses in all, from the welcome sparkling wine to Vin Santo. To go with them: cheeses with balsamic vinegar, honey and preserves, toasted bread with three local olive oils, a crostino and cantucci.
Who it's for
You don't need to know anything about wine. If you already do, you'll still get the technical side; if you're starting from zero, you'll learn what really matters at the table: spotting a flawed wine, understanding what's in your glass, serving without fumbling.
Times and group size
The tasting lasts 75 minutes and can be booked at any time between 10am and 5pm, every day, with no fixed sessions. Groups range from 6 to 16 people. It takes place at Via dei Macci 79 rosso, in Florence's Sant'Ambrogio neighborhood, a fifteen-minute walk from the Duomo.
