Tuscan restaurant
‍in Florence

La Chicca serves contemporary Tuscan food in Sant'Ambrogio: steak, truffle, and fresh seafood with a creative twist. Pasta and focaccia are made in-house, the seafood comes from the Tuscan coast, and our vegetables arrive from the Sant'Ambrogio market every day. You come for dinner, and you come back because you're treated as a guest.

An evening you'll be talking about long after, in a home that's yours for the night

La Chicca is a contemporary Tuscan restaurant in Sant'Ambrogio, Florence. The classics are done properly: steak, fresh pasta made in-house every day (the butter and truffle tagliolini is the dish people keep coming back for), and focaccia, soft and warm, baked in-house every day. Fresh seafood comes from the Tuscan coast, and our kitchen gets creative with it in ways a traditional seafood restaurant wouldn't: lobster linguine, lobster tacos. With the Sant'Ambrogio market just steps away, we cook with the seasons: fresh vegetables every day, and off-menu specials that change daily. La Chicca stands where the Maramao once was, the historic Florentine nightclub where, for years, people fell in love and made memories they still carry with them. In Italian, a "chicca" is a small, precious thing — a hidden gem. That's what we wanted to be in Sant'Ambrogio: a little corner where you can unwind. We didn't want customers, we wanted guests.

I've been to La Chicca several times and every time I'm impressed by their food and hospitality. The fish is their strong point. The bistecca alla Fiorentina is great too

Welcoming place with kind, attentive staff. We tried both seafood and meat dishes. Among the starters, the scallops, peppered mussels and beef carpaccio stood out. For pasta, I'd single out the linguine alla Nerano, and among the mains the beef fillet tagliata was perfect. Definitely a place to come back to.

Welcoming atmosphere, with soft background music (so you can actually talk), and very kind staff in both the dining room and the kitchen. The head waiter has a great sense of humor and gives excellent wine recommendations. The food is exceptional — compliments to the chef.
